Student decision-making research: Why don’t they accept our offers?

We’re seeing a decline in market share in certain degree courses over a number of years. How can the University increase acceptance rates and enrolments among domestic undergraduate and postgraduate students for these programs?

    • Explore why prospective students declined an offer, including drivers influencing their final decision

    • Understand how the University’s current course offering is perceived by prospective students

    • Explore desirable attributes in these programs, how the University is perceived against these, and potential ways the University could better attract and enrol target students

    • Research recycling & review of current state

    • Research design (discussion guide, stimulus material) & participant recruitment

    • 12 x 1:1 interviews with students, conducted online

    • Collaborative analysis and debrief workshop

  • Research findings used alongside other internal and external analysis to inform a broader strategic review of these degree programs at the university.

  • 6-8 weeks (brief to debrief)
