Learner journey mapping: How can we better align our digital systems?

To support the implementation of future digital systems at our institution, we need to clearly understand the student journey and map it to institutional processes.

    • Identify current student journey and business processes and systems that underpin it

    • Design the ideal student journey for current and future business models (e.g. face to face, blended, online and short courses)

    • Engage a cross-functional group of staff to ensure broad perspectives and input to process

  • Part 1: Stakeholder research

    • Stakeholder briefing and consultation

    • 6 x internal stakeholder interviews (45-60 mins each)

    • Analysis of interviews and emerging themes

    • Documentation and presentation of interview findings

    Part 2: Cross-functional workshop

    • Workshop design and preparation (using outcomes from Part 1)

    • Workshop delivery (half day)

    • Analysis and documentation of workshop outcomes

    • Follow up: presentation & discussion of findings

  • Support academic and business processes to be more efficient, consistent and streamlined, and inform decisions on digital systems to support a more seamless digital student experience from discovery to onboarding.

  • 4-5 weeks from briefing to stakeholder workshop
